| This is William. He is my 3rd adorable child. William was born in 2007 with a rare genetic visual impairment called Aniridia (literally meaning 'no iris'). This condition occurs in approximately 1 out of every 60,000 births. And while Aniridia itself is rare, the associated conditions which make up Aniridia are not uncommon & actually occur frequently in the general population. These conditions include glaucoma, cataracts, corneal scarring, low vision, light sensitivity, lens dislocation, nystagmus, strabismus, and others. In some cases, Wilm's Tumor (a cancerous tumor of the kidneys before age 8), and other serious issues may be present. In fact most, if not all, of these conditions occur within one person simultaneously throughout their life, significantly reducing visual acuity. Because Aniridia is uncommon, there is little research into its causes & treatments. In an effort to help my son & other people living with visual impairments, DebbyDoodles proudly makes charitable contributions from the proceeds of our sales to The Vision For Tomorrow Foundation...a wonderful non-profit organization dedicated to helping people with low vision see a world of potential. Thank you for your support! |

| Debby Doodles is a proud sponsor (& organizer) of SONGS FOR SIGHT - an annual children's concert to help raise funds for The Vision For Tomorrow Foundation. SONGS FOR SIGHT features Steve Roslonek - the PBS Kids host of "Music Time with SteveSongs". Check out Steve's website for music clips, tour dates, and to purchase his music online. In addition to being an incredibly awesome musician, he's also a really great guy. Thank you Steve for performing at our Sold Out 2009 AND 2010 'Songs For Sight' benefit concerts supporting Aniridia research & The Vision For Tomorrow Foundation. Our 2011 concert will be held in Philadelphia, PA. If you would like addition information or would like to help sponsor this event or attend, please contact me at debby@debbydoodles.com. |
